10 Jul Unit 3: Week 3 – Written Assignmen
Annotated Bibliography
Prepare an annotated bibliography of 10 relevant, peer-reviewed articles related to the curriculum issue identified during week 1. The two articles from the first assignment may be included if they were related to the curriculum issue.
You will need to:
- Include a brief introduction of the curriculum issue/instructional strategy you are addressing preceding the annotations
- Include a short paragraph of how this research might help conclude the project.
In addition to providing a summary of an article,
- The Annotated Bibliography provides an evaluation of the article. In other words, it provides a critical summary of your sources. Making annotations forces you to weigh and balance evidence, and it asks you to determine if you’ve found essential, important sources about your topic.
- The completed annotations will also reveal trends, commonalties, and differences that will aid you in solving your curriculum issue. As before, the annotations will be between 150 and 225 words each. Make sure you look at the guidelines for critiquing articles from the first week for more detailed suggestions.
The annotations are listed in APA 6th edition order within the body of the paper.
Conclusion
Last week in the synopsis of your curriculum issue, you developed three objectives for your project. Evaluate how the research from this bibliography helps you to reach these goals and what else you still need to accomplish.
This assignment is worth 9 points of the total course grade.

Description: Annotated Bibliography. Prepare an annotated bibliography of ten relevant peer-reviewed articles related to the curriculum issue identified during week 1. The two articles from the first assignment may be included if they were related to the curriculum issue. A brief introduction of the curriculum issue you are addressing precedes the annotations and a short paragraph of how this research might help concludes the project. Points to Consider Write the introduction after completing the annotations of the ten peer-reviewed articles. In the introduction, you explain why you chose the sources by explaining the topic area you are investigating. Then you will critically synthesize the findings from the sources. A synthesis is a pulling together of diverse approaches and points of view. To do so, think of the following questions: 1. What have you learned from these articles? How do these articles relate to one another? 2. How do they compare in terms of methodologies, approaches, theoretical standpoints? 3. What converging and/or contrasting findings do they report? 4. What kinds of arguments and interpretation do they propose? 5. What are the limitations of these studies? 6. In what way do they highlight and strengthen the issue you are trying to solve? Try to organize your introduction around topics/ideas/issues, not around individual authors. This will help you make sure that your introduction does not simply replicate the annotations. Do your best to work your introduction in the objective third-person point of view.
