Statement of the topic
a- Dominicans are a very diverse group and one of the larger groups in New York City. They have been developing strategies to cope with their economic situations. Many of them are new immigrants, some lack college education, other do not have enough skills to perform certain jobs, the majority speak limited to no English and many of them are undocumented.
b- Dominicans that live in neighborhood where there’s a large concentration of Dominicans have a better coping strategies than other who live in neighborhood where this population is less predominant.
2- Purpose
The main purpose of this proposal is to study why Dominicans that live in a neighborhood where there is a large concentration of Dominicans have a better coping strategy than other Dominicans living in neighborhood where the Dominican population is less predominant.
3-Research Question
1. What is the Immigration and Adaptation of Dominicans in New York City?
2. Do Dominicans who live in neighborhood where there is a large concentration of Dominicans have better-coping strategies than others who live in neighborhoods where this population is less predominant?
3. What are the advantages and disadvantages for Dominicans who live in Dominican Neighborhood?
The coping strategies to study are the level of knowledge of English as a second language, level of education and type of job of these two groups.

from 0 month to 1 1/2m,
from 1 1/2m to 3 month,( to do my research)
from 3m to 4mall research needs to be done (analysis of my data, looking for resources)
from 4m to 5 m (analysis)
From 5m to 51/2m looking for result and write up
From 51/2m to 6th month (it should be completed)
