Your entry may be brief and informal, but it must be scholarly. Argument: What is the best economic reasoning behind your answer to the Assigned Question? For this discussion, giving your best reasoning is better than listing all of the arguments given in the textbook or in other sources. Choose the one that you consider as the best economic argument for your answer and describe it carefully in a full paragraph (or more if necessary). How clear, solid, and well thought-out is this argument? Does it convey a clear knowledge of the assigned and researched material and a recognition of alternative perspectives?
Support: How well do you support your argument? In a separate paragraph (or more if necessary), provide examples, quotations, or other evidence that support your economic reasoning. Make sure that the support is relevant and come from reliable sources (see also the need to cite your source below).
Research: Did you find and master relevant scholarly reference materials? In addition to reading the textbook, you are expected to do further research to learn about other ideas, facts, and perspectives. In your post, make sure to use at least one scholarly reference material. Refer to the Guide to Scholarly Sources for details.
Documentation and Citation: Did you document and cite all sources (including the textbook) appropriately? You are responsible for providing proper citation for all direct quotations, paraphrased ideas, and other information coming from other sources. (Note that you have to cite an idea even if you paraphrase it rather than quote an author directly; and, in general, you ought to paraphrase not quote.) Make sure to include at the end of your post a list of works cited. Use the Chicago Manual of Style to format properly both your in-post citations and list of works cited.
